Steve grew up in a restaurant family. He earned his leadership and management credentials in the hospitality industry starting with washing dishes at age nine to eventually owning a successful restaurant decades later.
Steve holds Professional Certified Coach credentials with the International Coach Federation. His signature “Coaching Skills for Managers” program has delivered measured performance results for a range of industry leaders and their organizations.
Steve works with both local small businesses and international clients. Some of his clients include: Fidelity National Title, Novo Nordisk, Amway, Asheville Independent Restaurants, and Parameter Generation Control. Steve was a senior mountaineering instructor with the Pacific Crest Outward Bound School, as well as, an outdoor leadership faculty member at Prescott College in Prescott, Arizona. Steve is also a former coach and guide for the United States Disabled Ski Team, guiding two national champions in the World Games for the Disabled. Steve’s development approaches are strongly influenced by his hospitality DNA, and how building fierce customer loyalty ought to drive cycles of continuous improvement and cultural renewal.
Steve lives in Asheville, North Carolina with his two passionate children and wife, Copland. When not on the soccer pitch, Steve’s family enjoys rock climbing, whitewater kayaking, and mountain biking. Steve is also a martial arts enthusiast having earned his black belt in tae kwon do.
